Combine Iceland’s newest volcanic landscapes with the country’s most famous geothermal spa on one unforgettable day. This guided Fagradalsfjall volcano hike takes you to the eruption site formed during the 2021–2023 Reykjanes eruptions, followed by Blue Lagoon Comfort admission to end the day in warm, mineral-rich waters.

Pick-up in Reykjavik
Start the day with convenient pick-up and a comfortable bus ride to the Reykjanes Peninsula, one of Iceland’s most active volcanic regions.

Volcano hike to the eruption site
On arrival, your guide leads you onto marked trails across rugged lava terrain. Hiking time varies with conditions, but the route is designed to give you a powerful view of the fresh lava fields and the dramatic landscape created by recent eruptions.

Lunch stop

About Fagradalsfjall and the 2021–2023 eruptions
The Reykjanes Peninsula entered a new volcanic era in 2021, when eruptions near Fagradalsfjall began reshaping valleys and lava plains in the Geldingadalir and Meradalir area. The result is a rare chance to walk beside Iceland’s newest terrain. Volcanic activity changes over time, so active lava is never guaranteed, but the landscape created in 2021–2023 remains one of Iceland’s most striking natural sights.
