Arrival & preparation
The tour begins at the Volcano ATV base in Vestmannaeyjar. Please arrive 30 minutes before departure to receive safety equipment and a short briefing before heading out.
Prestvík beach & coastal terrain
From the base, the ride follows the coastline towards Prestvík beach, crossing black sand and volcanic ground. Along the way, your guide shares stories about the island’s history and life in Vestmannaeyjar.
Pelagus shipwreck site
You pass the location where the fishing vessel Pelagus ran aground. This stop highlights the island’s strong connection to the sea and its maritime heritage.
Eldfell volcano & lava fields
The route continues across lava fields formed during the Eldfell eruption, offering a close look at the volcanic forces that shaped the island.
Scenic viewpoints
Several short stops are made at viewpoints overlooking Vestmannaeyjar and the Atlantic Ocean, giving you time to enjoy the views and take photos.
Return to base
The tour ends with a relaxed ride back to the base, completing a short but memorable ATV adventure.
