Description

Experience a rewarding glacier hike on Falljökull, an outlet glacier of Vatnajökull, in the heart of Skaftafell. This small-group glacier adventure takes you farther onto the ice than most standard tours, offering an immersive experience in a dramatic glacial landscape.

After meeting your certified glacier guide at Skaftafell Terminal, you’ll travel by 4x4 vehicle toward the glacier. Once on the ice, you’ll learn how to use crampons and move safely across crevasses, moulins, and flowing meltwater streams that constantly reshape the glacier surface.

The route leads toward the impressive icefall of Falljökull, where towering formations and deep blue ice dominate the scenery. Along the way, your guide shares insights into how glaciers form, how they move, and how this region has been shaped by ice and time.

With frequent stops to explore features, take photos, and enjoy the surroundings, this glacier adventure offers a balanced mix of exploration, learning, and unforgettable views in one of Iceland’s most iconic national parks.
