Golden Circle & Northern Lights
Description
If you prefer not to drive in Iceland, but do not want to miss the highlights, this is the best opportunity to enjoy a tour in a comfortable Super Jeep and get to know the wonders that Iceland and its nature have to offer.
This is a combo tour, the famous Golden Circle with all its natural attractions during the afternoon, and the magical Northern Lights at night.
What will we visit?
During the tour we will visit the Þingvellir National Park, a historical place for the Icelandic nation since the oldest parliament in the world was located here. It is also a place with an incredible geological richness where you can observe the clear separation between the tectonic plates that cross Iceland.
To the south of the park is the Þingvallavatn lake. It is the largest natural lake in Iceland. Since 2004, þingvellir is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is considered a national treasure.
We will visit Geysir and Strokkur, located in a highly geothermal area with great activity, a sample of the authentic Icelandic nature. You will witness the column of boiling water in the air up to 30m high that surprises visitors every 5 or 10 minutes.
On our tour we will visit one of the most surprising attractions in Iceland, it is the Gullfoss waterfall, it is called "The Golden Waterfall". The glacial water comes from the Langjökull glacier and flows through a canyon creating a 32-meter waterfall with spectacular force.
Aurora borealis
This natural phenomenon is observable from September to April, and it requires clear skies and high solar wind activity, the show is unpredictable and we will have to go in search of it being far from the light pollution of the city. One of the advantages of our Super Jeep tour in a small group is the possibility of adapting our itinerary according to the area and activity of the Northern Lights.
