Description
Arrival & check-in: Meet at the base camp by Guesthouse Gerði near Heinabergslón. Your guide gets you checked in, fitted, and ready for the water.
Gear-up & briefing: Put on the drysuit and safety equipment, then get a short introduction to paddling technique and on-water safety. The kayaks are stable sit-on-top boats, suitable for first-time kayakers too.
Iceberg lagoon experience: Launch onto the calm lagoon and paddle with incredible views toward Vatnajökull. Drift between floating ice and enjoy a quiet, nature-first way to experience the glacier environment.
Time on the water: Expect roughly 2 hours kayaking time, with plenty of moments to pause for photos, learn about the area, and take in the scenery at a comfortable pace.
Wrap-up: Return to base camp to change out of your gear and finish the tour with a warm sense of “I just kayaked a glacier lagoon” satisfaction.
