Description
Meeting & preparation: The tour starts at the Hike & Bike office by Lake Mývatn, where you meet your guide, receive a mountain bike and helmet, and get a short safety briefing.
Cycling around Lake Mývatn: Ride through the unique volcanic and geothermal landscapes of the Mývatn area, with several stops at lesser-known points of interest. Your guide shares insights into the geology, nature, and local life of the region.
Underground bakery & geothermal area: Along the way, you visit the famous “Underground Bakery,” where traditional geyser bread is baked in naturally heated ground, offering a glimpse into how geothermal energy has long been used by locals.
Steam cave & Mývatn Nature Baths: The ride continues to a natural steam cave before arriving at the Mývatn Nature Baths. You enjoy approximately one hour of relaxation in the warm geothermal waters and steam baths.
Return: After bathing, the tour cycles back to the starting point.
Total duration: approximately 3–4 hours.
